DIRECTOR, MUSIC THERAPIST

Felicia Wall, MTA

I am a certified music therapist who has worked in the Vancouver area since 2015. I am strengths-based and client-centered in my practice, which means I strive to recognize, foster and build on strengths that my clients already have. I place a high value on the therapeutic relationship and believe that client and therapist create transformation together.

I work mainly with youth and adults who have been marginalized from society and who have experienced poverty, drug addiction, discrimination, abuse and mental health issues. Music therapy is a powerful tool for connection, expression and healing in these contexts, and I am constantly struck by how impactful this work is for clients and for myself.

My work is based around the principles of trauma informed practice and an anti-oppressive framework. I am highly skilled at relationship-building and am fluent in both French and English.

My years of performance experience led me to a career in music therapy and I feel honored to now be a part of my client’s musical experience.

MUSIC THERAPIST

Ian Fildes, BMT

With a strong belief that connecting on a relational level is the basis of great therapeutic practices, I bring an open and client-centered approach to each group or individual through music therapy. I have worked predominantly with children, adolescents, and adults focusing on mental health, addictions, and neurodiversity.

My foundation in improvisation allows for a flexible approach to creating meaningful and therapeutic interactions using a wide range of instruments and musical styles. Community has been an invaluable factor in my own musical journey, and I am thrilled to offer these connections to clients.
